Citywire speaks to a fund selector in India about a critical factor in mutual fund selection in that country, and how she is coping with one of the world’s strictest lockdowns.

Citywire is speaking to fund selectors based in locations beyond the major financial centres, on an 80-day trip around the world. Our next destination has many pull factors, including a young population, rapidly growing middle class and business-friendly reforms: India.

India’s Sanctum Wealth Management asked clients to stop investing in lower-rated investment grade bonds earlier this year. But money is still being poured into funds that invest in these products, instead of the  AAA-rated or equivalent bonds.
