What selectors want to know when a PM launches their own boutique

WATCH: Selectors debate when it makes sense to follow a new manager to a new venture and what to watch out for.

LONDON

Governance, assets base and track record are the key considerations for professional investors when following a fund manager who has left to set up their own shop.

In this latest Selector Hard Talk video, which was filmed as part of Citywire’s World of Boutiques event, selectors were asked what they want to know when looking at new ventures. This clip is a selection of their key concerns.

The panel was moderated by Spyros Agrianitis, head of fund selection and third-party fund relations at Alpha Bank, and Pietro Cecere, Citywire’s head of European research.

The participants included:

  • Madalena Antolin Teixeira, senior portfolio manager, BPI Vida e Pensōes;
  • Karol Ciuk, head of global strategies, Pekao TFI S.A;
  • Manuel-Yutaro Rubio, head of alternative and multi-asset strategies, Allfunds Bank;
  • and Carlo Sturlese, hedge fund analyst, Kairos Partners SGR.
